But these incidents\, though often superficial\, are problematic and symptomatic of some deep-seated issues that require the country’s full-attention to remedy. \n▼Speakerのご紹介\nBaye McNeil\, Author / Columnist / Social Commentator / Activist\nBaye is from Brooklyn NY and has lived in Japan since 2004. He is the author of two critically-acclaimed books on life in Japan: “Hi! My Name is Loco and I am a Racist” and “Loco in Yokohama”. His monthly column\, “Black Eye”\, for The Japan Times\, raises awareness of issues related to “blackness” in Japan\, and profiles people of African descent from around the globe living in Japan . \nIn 2015\, Baye spearheaded a successful petition to protest the airing of a blackface minstrel show on Japanese TV\, and since has become the voice of people of African descent all over Asia. His writing and activism has garnered global attention\, and has been featured or discussed in The New York Times\, on\nBBC\, CNN\, Washington Post\, Wall Street Journal\, Huffington Post\, USA Today\, Yahoo!
