Most of us feel like we’re very busy every day, but are we really being productive?   This is an important question for both our personal success, and also the success of our companies and the economy as a whole.

In this session, we’ll take an in-depth look into how you and the organization you work for can increase your productivity.  First we’ll talk about the difference between being efficient, working hard, and productivity.  Then we’ll look at things that tend to eat up time — meetings, bureaucracy and paperwork, communication and coordination, and overtime work. We’ll discuss what you can do as an individual to improve productivity in these areas and what companies can do as well.  We’ll also talk about whether there might be some challenges to productivity inherent
in Japanese organizations, and I’ll also share examples from cutting-edge companies near me in Silicon Valley.

The session will include a lot of interactive discussions, so that you can share and learn from other participants about what practices have worked best for you and your companies, as well as worst practices to be avoided!
You’ll come away from this session with a better understanding of the challenges to productivity and how to overcome them.
