※解説は主に日本語ですが、Icebreaking, 振り返りトーク、ライティング等の英語での参加者アクティビティがあります。

このワークショップでは，英文ライティングの教科書や授業では学べない説得力のあるビジネスレターの書き方を体験します。

最初に212万語の英文コーパス・データに基づき，実際のビジネスレターの特徴をコンピュータ解析した結果を示します。次に，読む人を説得し，自分の観点に賛同してもらい，行動を起してもらうためのコミュニケーション・ストラテジーを話し合います。

実際に簡単なビジネスレターを書くことも実践してみましょう。グループでのディスカッションやスピーカーとの対話も盛り込んでの、参加型のセッションです。

今回は特別にスピーカーのプレゼンを主に日本語で行いますので、初めての方もどうぞお気軽にご参加ください。

In this enjoyable workshop, participants can share the findings of business letter corpus research in order to write a persuasive paragraph in English.

First, the speaker demonstrates how to create flow of sentence to create a reader-center approach based on analysis on 2.12 million English written corpus data.
Then participants discuss essential communication strategies to convince readers to accept a particular point of view or take a specific action in business.

*Speaker’s Profile
Professor Yasuo Nakatani obtained his TESOL Certificate from Georgetown University, M.A. from Macquarie University, and Ph.D. from the University of Birmingham and was a visiting scholar at University of Oxford.

His research interests include Communication Strategies, Business Case Studies and Second Language Acquisition. He wrote many business cases such as Intel’s brand marketing strategies and Chanel & Dior’s perfume branding strategies.
He published 25 books, 78 research papers and made 80 presentations in the world.
