今回の Vital Japan セッション には、TBSの人気番組『情熱大陸』にも登場し、「日本一忙しい通訳者」として知られる 会議通訳者・橋本美穂さん をスピーカーとしてお迎えします。

橋本さんは、企業の総合職としてキャリアをスタート後、通訳者養成学校の夜間コースなどで研鑽を積み、会議通訳者として独立。
高度なビジネス通訳にとどまらず、ピコ太郎やふなっしーの同時通訳を務めるなど、幅広い分野で活躍されています。
また、『CNN English Express』誌の人気連載「英語にないなら作っちゃえ！」の執筆を担当されるなど、言葉の可能性を広げ続けてきました。

AIが私たちの日常や仕事に急速に入り込むいま、高度化するAIは、通訳の仕事をどこまで代替できるのでしょうか。
そして、AIには決して置き換えられない、通訳者ならではの価値やスキルとは何なのでしょうか。

本セッションでは、豊富な現場エピソードを交えながら、笑顔あふれる橋本さんに、通訳の最前線とその未来について 英語で縦横に語っていただきます。

参加者でのグループディスカッションやスピーカーとの対話なども交えながらのインタラクティブなセッション。使用言語は英語です。

Speakerのご紹介

橋本美穂さん　会議通訳者

アメリカ・テキサス州⽣まれ。幼少期をカリフォルニア州で過ごしたのち帰国。兵庫県⽴神⼾⾼等学校卒業、慶應義塾⼤学総合政策学部へ進学。卒業後、キヤノン株式会社に総合職として⼊社し、同社に勤めながら通訳者養成学校夜間コースを修了し、⽇本コカ・コーラ株式会社の社内通訳を務めたのち、フリーランスの会議通訳者となる。得意分野は⾦融、IT、マーケティングなど。これまでに担当した案件は6000件以上、顧客社数は800社を超える。

高度なビジネス通訳からピコ太郎やふなっしーの同時通訳をこなすなど、日本一忙しい通訳者として知られている。TBSの「情熱⼤陸　通訳者・橋本美穂」が2017年に放送。2019年4⽉よりCNN ENGLISH EXPRESSで⼈気コーナー「英語にないなら作っちゃえ︕」を5年間連載。2023年4⽉に単⾏本『英語にないなら作っちゃえ︕これで伝わる。直訳できない⽇本語』を刊⾏。

Join us for a highly interactive session at Vital Japan, where we explore the future of interpreting in the age of AI — and connect with professionals from across Tokyo.
A networking party will follow the session at a nearby restaurant.

Our speaker, Miho Hashimoto, is one of Japan’s most renowned conference interpreters between Japanese and English. 
She was featured on the popular TBS television program “Jōnetsu Tairiku” , where she was introduced as one of the busiest interpreters in Japan.

Ms. Hashimoto began her career as a corporate professional before training intensively in interpreter training programs, including evening courses, and later becoming an independent conference interpreter.
Her work ranges from high-level business interpreting to simultaneous interpreting for pop culture icons such as Pikotaro and Funassyi.
She has also contributed widely to language education, including her popular column “If It Doesn’t Exist in English, Let’s Create It!” in CNN English Express magazine.

As AI becomes increasingly embedded in our daily lives and workplaces,
how much of the interpreting profession can AI truly replace?
And what unique value and skills will remain exclusive to human interpreters?

In this session, Ms. Hashimoto will share insights from the front lines of interpreting, drawing on rich real-world experiences — all delivered with her trademark warmth and energy, in English.

The session will be fully interactive, featuring group discussions among participants as well as direct dialogue with the speaker.
