日曜日午後2時から開催のVital Japanセッション。

あの熱いトークが帰ってきます！
今回のVital Japanのスピーカーは、米国人のベンジャミン・ボアズさん。
ベンジャミンさんは、日本のサブカルチャーに精通した国際コミュニケーション・コンサルタントとして、書籍の出版、TV出演など様々なメディアで活躍されています。

前回Vital Japan登壇された際には、その情熱あふれるトークで参加者を魅了し、参加者でのグループディスカッションやQ＆Aも大いに盛り上がりました。

今回は、日本の魅力を海外の人にどのように配信すべきか、改めて考えます。
常に日本の魅力について考えていらっしゃる米国人のボアズさんの目には、日本政府の政策や日本人の考え方がどう映るのか自由に語っていただき、日本は海外に向けてどのような日本像を発信すべきか、参加者と共にディスカッションしてゆきます。

グループディスカッションなどを交えながらのインタラクティブなセッション。
使用言語は英語のみです。

Speakerのご紹介

ベンジャミン・ボアズ さん    Benjamin Boas
アメリカ・ニューヨーク州生まれ。ブラウン大学卒。
『日本のことは、マンガとゲームで学びました。』（小学館）原作者。近著『日本はクール!? 間違いだらけの日本の魅力発信』
2007年フルブライト奨学金を得て京都大学大学院人文科学研究所にて「麻雀と社会」を研究。横浜のアメリカ・カナダ大学連合日本研究センターに在籍。その後、大阪商業大学、東京大学にて「ゲームと社会」を研究。
現在は国際コミュニケーション・コンサルタント、翻訳家、内閣府公認クールジャパン・アンバサダー、東京都中野区観光大使、ライター、研究活動の傍らNHKWorldの番組レポーターの他、様々なラジオ番組、新聞、雑誌で「クール・ジャパンの在り方」を提言する活動も行っている。

Speaker’s Profile

Benjamin Boas has over a decade of experience as a global communication consultant. Recognized by the Japanese Government’s Cabinet Office as a Cool Japan Ambassador, Benjamin is author of two books on Japanese culture and English education in Japan. His writing has been published by organizations including The Japan Times, The Yomiuri Shimbun and Studio Ghibli and he regularly appears in television programs on NHK World.

After graduating from Brown University, Benjamin studied at Kyoto University on a Fulbright Fellowship and has held research positions at the University of Tokyo, Osaka University of Commerce and Keio University.

Outside of work, Benjamin is an avid Mahjong player and has placed in two international championships. He holds a 2nd-degree black belt and instructor certification from the Yoshinkan Aikido Hombu Dojo.
